Who makes funding decisions?
Student Finance England administers higher education finance for eligible students ordinarily resident in England. It is separate from universities and education consultancies. Different funding bodies apply in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The main types of support
Eligible undergraduate students may apply for a Tuition Fee Loan and a Maintenance Loan. Tuition support goes towards course fees; maintenance support helps with living costs. Eligibility depends on your circumstances and the course.
